About MATE Test
What is MATE Test?
MATE Test is a self-understanding test that analyzes your attitudes toward marriage, values, and communication styles across 4 dimensions to identify your marriage type among 16 possibilities. It's designed for couples preparing for marriage to take together and use the differences as a starting point for conversation.
Why We Built This
While preparing for marriage, we kept asking ourselves 'Are we really a good match?' There were plenty of personality tests out there, but finding a tool that examined what actually matters in married life — how you handle conflict, your daily rhythms, your expectations for the future — was surprisingly difficult. So we decided to build one ourselves. MATE Test's 4 dimensions are based on the areas where real couples clash most often in married life.
4 Analysis Dimensions
- MSMarriage Motivation (M/S)
Measures whether you view marriage as essential (M) or optional (S).
- ARCommunication Style (A/R)
Analyzes whether you prefer active (A) or reflective (R) communication.
- THThinking vs Feeling (T/H)
Identifies whether you make decisions based on logic (T) or emotions (H).
- EFExpectation Level (E/F)
Measures whether your expectations for married life are high (E) or flexible (F).
Blog Philosophy
The MATE Test blog writes about love and marriage starting from real experience. Instead of 'according to research,' we aim to share stories that begin with 'in this situation, here's what actually worked.' All articles are original content designed for couples to read together and spark meaningful conversations.
Content Standards
Every blog post includes specific examples drawn from real dating and marriage experiences. We avoid unverified claims or exaggerated advice, and only cover practical content that readers can immediately apply to their own relationships.
