About MATE Test

What is MATE Test?

MATE Test is a self-understanding test that analyzes your relationship management style across 4 dimensions (Closeness, Life Rhythm, Conflict Style, and Management) to identify your type among 16 possibilities. It's designed for couples preparing for marriage to take together and use the differences as a starting point for conversation.

Why We Built This

While preparing for marriage, we kept asking ourselves 'Are we really a good match?' There were plenty of personality tests out there, but finding a tool that examined what actually matters in married life — how you handle conflict, your daily rhythms, your expectations for the future — was surprisingly difficult. So we decided to build one ourselves. MATE Test's 4 dimensions are based on the areas where real couples clash most often in married life.

4 Analysis Dimensions

  • MS
    Closeness (M/S)

Measures how much togetherness you want with your partner. Merge (M) prioritizes shared time, while Space (S) values personal independence.

  • AR
    Life Rhythm (A/R)

Analyzes whether you crave change or stability. Adventure (A) thrives on new experiences, while Routine (R) finds comfort in familiar patterns.

  • TH
    Conflict Style (T/H)

Identifies how you handle disagreements. Talk-now (T) expresses feelings immediately, while Hold-then (H) processes emotions first before communicating.

  • EF
    Management (E/F)

Measures how you manage daily life. Execute-plan (E) tracks budgets and schedules systematically, while Flow (F) adapts flexibly to situations.

Blog Philosophy

The MATE Test blog writes about love and marriage starting from real experience. Instead of 'according to research,' we aim to share stories that begin with 'in this situation, here's what actually worked.' All articles are original content designed for couples to read together and spark meaningful conversations.

Content Standards

Every blog post includes specific examples drawn from real dating and marriage experiences. We avoid unverified claims or exaggerated advice, and only cover practical content that readers can immediately apply to their own relationships.
